After Saro’s death, Tembi finds comfort by traveling with Zoela back to Sicily during the summer months. From Scratch is such a special memoir. Food played a significant role from beginning to end and would prove to be a contributing salve to healing and family cohesiveness. In particular, Locke’s descriptions of Saro’s final days left me breathless.
