As you progress they add in 'reverse' and 'repeat' commands to catch you out. If you finish the lights only levels then you can complete the game and your score will be around 260-270. The commands start as 'bop-it', 'spin it', 'scratch it' and 'flip it'. Then as you get the hang of those, the commands become 'lights only' where you have to know the instruction from the flashing light patterns.
Overall if you are a bop-it fan you should get this. I happen to love the Nicki Minaj and Avicii tracks used in this game which is a bonus. It is great fun too!
I really enjoy the original bop-it xt game so bought bop-it beats to add to my fun.
