. I've wanted to try metal detecting for years and finally decided to go for it. UPDATE:so two years on and iv stuck with the Garrett ace250 iv found 2 gold coins medieval jewelery Roman coins jewelery and artifacts, plenty of hammered silver coins and loads more.

Would definitely recommend this,detector only thing I dislike is the bright yellow colour. Spent an hour testing it. Found two screw in the Gravel on the driveway which could have punctured Tyres.

iv taken the ace to Italy where i found some amazing artifacts and coins, this machine is 100% Recommend. After much research and debate I decided to purchase the garrett ace 250, its light weight and has a quality feel about it, lots of different setting for coins Jewellery etc, I've not realy had much time to go through the settings only having used the garrett twice. It can be assembled then disassembled into 3 easy peices so I can carry it in my pack pack without a problem. Found a large ancient paper clip and a bent nail in the Garden and also what I think is a Brickwork Pointing tool buried about 150 mm down, adjacent to a tree.

Very impressed so far. I didn't find anything of value my first time out but it works great and found coins and scrap.

I'm very happy I chose this this. So far the garrett has found me 1 1979 penny 1 2005 5pence and 5 very old rusty nails, never had so much fun finding junk hoping to find a gold coin one day soon.

I live within a couple of mile from numerous sandy beaches and wanted an affordable but decent detector that could handle dry and wet sand. The media could not be loaded.
